Bush in Retreat
President Bush takes longest presidential retreat in 36 years ("the kind of break most Americans can only dream of"), has spent nearly 20 percent of his presidency at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. Meanwhile, 43 U.S. troops have been killed in Iraq in the past ten days and Bush's recess UN Ambassador John Bolton is booed on the sidewalk outside the U.S. Mission. Let's just pray there's not another August Bin Laden memo that gets overlooked.

Does it really suprise you that he spends the most time at his Ranch? He's a hick! He hates the city. So any chance that backwards hillbilly has at going home to play Cowboy, he takes it...And makes other people play cowboy with him...

The truth is, he isn't a hick at all. He's a blueblood who has more ties to New England prep schools and money than anything in Texas.

The President gets daily briefings, meets with foreign leaders and attends teleconferences with military commanders when he's on "vacation." How much work do you when when you're on vacation?
Most of us turn off the BlackBerry, unplug the work cellphone or pager, and stop checking e-mail remotely when we head off for a vacation. The President doesn't have that option.

What's the point Andy? He can't win with you so why do you bother? If he were there, actively governing, which you know damn well he's doing anyway from Crawford, you'd still be pissed.
I thought American's needed to relax and vacation more?

If we thought he worked hard at being president people would not be upset. Despite saying what hard work being president is during the first debate he is clearly the only president in my memory that does not look like the burden of the office has aged him.
He is never in DC he is always on the road in this endless campaign that the republicans accused Clinton of doing.

Well, since Bill Clinton was able to successfully multitask business and pleasure while President, such as when Monica was giving him a blow job while he was on the phone talking to a US Congressman about the situation in Bosnia... I think its fair to assume Bush will be able to similarly multitask, and gets lots of official work done in Crawford.
