Are You Camilla Chic?

CamillachicA new buzzphrase has entered the English language: "Camilla chic"

The British press reports: "A dictionary of new phrases to enter the language says the term now rivals words like sudoku, the Japanese puzzle craze, in popularity." Now that's impressive.

"Since her wedding when she dazzled fashion-watchers in an elegant oyster-coloured design by Robinson Valentine topped by a Philip Treacy hat, the Duchess has become a byword for dignified style."

But what's the rule about wearing the same hat twice?

  1. There was so much blame and resentment for her originally, it’s nice to see England warming up to her. I wish I had an occasion to wear such fierce feathers.

  2. Camilla, chic? Are you kidding me??? OMG! Those fashion editors in London need to get a clue!

  3. This is dignified?!?! I guess Diana was downright understated! Can we have that back please!

  4. Sorry, but while Camilla may have won the battle for Charles, she loses big time in the fashion sweepstakes. Diana had it going on when it came to fashion. Camilla? To her credit, she does look nice, but she'll never be the fashion icon that Diana was.

  5. Camilla is doing for hats, what Tammy Faye did for makeup. Maybe it's more like Minnie Pearl on steroids. Then again, being British, it could be more like the Elton John eyeglass thing. I'd hate to find it's some kind of illness. Like an eating disorder, only 'hat related'.

She's really such an easy target for 'hat humor'.

  6. People, move on from Diana. She's dead and ain't coming back and slagging Camilla off will just turn you into even bigger bitter queens. If you were to meet the woman (as I have) you'd find her to be charming, friendly and down-to-earth and non-judgemental. Her hats are great too and she's one fabulous old mare.

  7. God love her... Can any of us imagine having to follow in Diana's footsteps?
She's got the guts to be who she is and what she wants... Oh, the Durbar Tiara thing... I'll agree that I don't know what she was thinking. Smaller and more tailored would have suited her much better. "Stick with what ya know..."
