Made into a Varsity Jock
Don't miss this week's hilarious and inspirational episode of Made featuring overweight gay high schooler Josh Turk as he attempts to make the boy's soccer team in the tiny town of Bethel, Vermont. While Josh may be a somewhat stereotypical representation of an outsider high school gay boy, the show treats that aspect of Josh with a matter-of-factness that is refreshing. It's airing again tonight at 8, Tuesday at 4pm, and Wednesday at 6 pm.

Loved the "Made" episode...I was almost in tears at the parts where he would almost give up playing soccer because he was out of shape & tired.
Not all of us gays are in perfect shape - and the struggle to lose weight, be accepted and be part of a "team" were part of the lessson.
Everyone should Tivo it.

I thought this was completely horrifying, and the gay guy was disgusting!! He was a fat ass jelly role who's man-boobs jiggled everytime he moved! I don't see that as a great example of someone I'd want to identify with if I were a gay high school student...hell, I'm an adult and don't want to identify with that fat tub of lard! I kept hoping the jocks would trick him into going out with them and then not show up, or trick him some how...
I fully expect to get trashed for these comments, but I don't care. This was a very funny episode but only because I was making fun of Santa Jr. the entire time...this guy is NO role model for anyone except the spokesmodel for Hostess Cupcakes!

I loved the episode. The kid was funny. Thanks, Andy, for recommending this. And thanks, Wayne. Now I am craving a hostess cupcake.

Yes, Wayne. God forbid a fat kid try to improve himself. ONLY BEATIFUL PEOPLE SHOULD BE ON TV. ONLY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE CAN BE ROLE MODELS. ONLY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE ARE WORTH INTERACTING WITH.
God, you're a fucktard.

Wayne, are you seriously that shallow and immature? You may want to rethink that "adult" label you've given yourself. What a tool.

Steve and Noodle, I knew I'd get trashed, but I have no sympathy for someone who allows themselves to balloon up so large! And don't give me the lame excuse of "hormones" or "genetics"...that is NO excuse! Most people are fat (this guy included by his own admission) because they don't exercise and eat healthy. There are plenty of thin people who are not beautiful, either on the inside or the outside, you're using that arguement as an excuse, once again.
My point is that this guy, while nice, only has himself to blame for his weight, and maybe his parents. I work out daily, I eat right, and have zero sympathy for people who do not. If you fall into that category then I'm pointing at you too.
And "Noodle", I'd be looking at my own name before I called anyone else a "fucktard"...
Jeez, you throw a little honesty on this board and the freaks call you out for being wrong...no apology here, and I'll bet there are plenty of others on this board who feel the same way.

While his weight was an issue of the episode, I believe that most people are responding to his honesty and fair grasp of reality when it came to his gayness.
I think it was a positive representation of how gay men can be accepted within the jock world if they try...most don't try because of their own hang ups. When I was a closeted jock in high school, I would have been really been excited if I knew my teammates were tolerant. I'm glad he gave it a shot. And bravo to MTV!

Wayne, I probably weight less than you do. I've never had a weight problem. But plenty of people overeat because of emotional problems (the whole "food equals love" pop psychology). This kid may have used food to comfort himself as he struggled with being gay.
Is it his problem to fix? Sure. But don't immediately assume everybody with a weight problem is just some lazy slob who prefers to sit around and eat Cheetos. Everybody has inner struggles -- even guys like you who base people's self-worth on their physical appearance.

I agree with you, Steve. Wayne is clearly very shallow.
BUT, I really hope Josh can get rid of those breasts which were totally horrifiying. I'm anxious to see the sequal in the hopes that the breasts are gone. And I don't feel bad for saying so since he himself declared in the early minutes of the program that the breasts had to go.

I hope you don't use that e-mail for anything important, Wayne, because I've just signed up your username for a million different junk mail lists.

On a side note, look at what an interesting personal ad Wayne has up online:
Wayne is a "Masculine versatile/bottom, looking for a tall masculine agressive Top Stud to dominate and use me."
Well, I can see where your whole "I hate fatties" thing comes from, considering how this is at Talldates.com.
More interesting information about Wayne:
Age 41
Weight 160
Body Type Fit
Body Hair Some
Shoe Size 8
Hair/Eyes Bald / Shaved/Brown
Circumcision Cut / Circumcised
Cock size big enough
Ethnicity Caucasian (white)
Orientation Gay
Role Bottomish/Versatile
Practice Safe Sex Sometimes
Relationship I'm in NOW In an open relationship
Yep. Surely you're in a position to talk smack about someone, eh Wayne?

Yikes, I've been outed by Noodle! Wow, sure hurts...
It's a real shame that you guys immediately try to humiliate ME, when I've said absolutely nothing about you personally. Well, I'm not ashamed, but you should be.

Guys, please let's keep the comments on-topic and take up personal conversations privately - thanks.

I disagree with your position on overweight people, Wayne, but believe you have a right to privacy and your own opinions. Sorry that someone took your e-mail and used it in an abusive manner.

Wayne, you're pathetic. Practice safe sex sometimes?! Barebacking is for you -- of course, add it with Crystal Meth if you can! When you're stricken with terminal illness, be sure to visit us and ask us for compassion!
And I'm grateful that Noodle mentioned your profile -- it is an opportunity to see what kind of person you are. Indeed, you're bald, you're aged. You're desperate for some quickies these days.
That's why you do not want 'fatties' -- that is why you exercise and eat right because you want to get laid. That is all to what you do in life.
To me, life is more than just a fuck.
Gee whiz, when a person made a courageous to confront his demons, there is always few ones like Wayne to attack and make fun of others to make himself feel better.
What a world we live in!

I think this episode was funny and I want to meet the kid, he's cool. I'm closeted gay and fairly in shape, but I smoke too much, cigarettes and weed. This kid has big balls being gay and doing what he did. I only wish I had the guts too tell someone I'm gay let alone try to make soccer team. This kid is a true inspiration. Anyone know how I can contact him, I almost need to talk to him.

Hey Josh - if you want to lose the 'man boobs' (which is actually a condition called gynecomastia) you should see a plastic surgeon. DHMC is not too far from Bethel and I bet they have docs there who specialize in the procedure.
