road.jpg "Gay panic" defense lightens Alabama killer's conviction: "Carlisle was so 'traumatized' by the encounter with Speigner that he killed the man, stole the professor's credit card to buy beer, cigarettes and gasoline later in the day while joyriding with friends. Even worse, he rented the car to another friend and was finally arrested while smoking dope inside the car, which he had upfitted with a new tag and freshly tinted windows."

road.jpg Oklahoma library segregates children's books dealing with homosexuality. They've now been moved to the "parenting" section. And what else is in the "parenting" section? "The other topics in the collection are child abuse, child abuse prevention, child sexual abuse, child sexual abuse prevention, domestic/family violence, substance abuse, drug abuse, medication abuse, alcoholism, premarital sex and extramarital sex."

  1. The story about the Oklahoma City/County Library is misleading. The books are being re-classified. Please refer to the story in the link.

    Thanks

  2. I don't think there's anything misleading in Mr. Towle's condensed version. These are children's books that could be purchased at the local Barnes and Noble in the children's section. Placing them in any section other than children's is segregating them.

  3. Well, I am at the point of saying well that's what we get for not converting or convincing people to our side. If we cared enough, we would be out dialoguing with people and organizing and donating money. THis is the product of our lack of zeal and laziness.

  4. I've had visitors and relatives to my home who have left behind items; pamphlets, rosaries, etc...

If you do feel "violated", then this is cause to file a civil lawsuit against the general contractor (whom ultimately owns the managing of the sub contractors). Otherwise, I would just say, "No thank you, I'm already too blessed for his sake" and toss the board.

  5. Nothing like some brainwashed, organized religion zombie telling you YOUR life is messed up..

It would be really creepy and unsettling to find that sign in your house.

  6. RE: 6 ft. under...Am i alone in this withdrawl? can anyone help? i was so into that show and assumed that there would be another show equally compelling to replace it. Is there? I can't find it. (i know, i should get out more.pick up a book...)Sad to say but if the subject of the show comes up i feel a tiny tug at my emotions, like an ex.
    calling to say hello.

  7. When my partner and I are having work done, we try to hire gay or lesbian contractors...or at least friendly ones. They may not necessarily be the cheapest, but I'm more comfortable knowing that if they see Men magazine in the bathroom, they're not going to freak out.

  8. One more reason to hide a "nanny Cam" in our homes when people are going to be there while we are not. jeez.

  9. Re: the BBC's homophobia. I'm certainly not surprised about Anne Robinson ("The Weakest Link"). When that horrid show was brought over here, there was all this talk about what a fearsome, rapier-like wit she wielded against hapless contestants. But when you actually watch her, she's not smart or clever, just insulting. Further proof that no matter how big an oaf you are, if you speak with a British accent, Americans will think you're intelligent and witty. (See also Cowell, Simon.)
