Big Gay Jump to Go Off in July

Skydivers

Mark Rejhon, a Canadian skydiver who has jumped from a plane 142 times, has organized the Rainbow Boogie, the first official gay skydiving event, to take place just south of Montreal at the end of July.

Says Mark: "Some of us like the excitement, along with the social atmosphere of being a part of a group of skydivers. A lot of hobby skydivers love to travel to skydiving parties called 'boogies' as vacation. Skydiving boogies have a fun camp-style social atmosphere that combines adrenaline excitement, camping, partying, bonfires, beer nights, camaraderie, and, not to mention, skydiving can be addictive."

Mark is the first licensed deaf skydiver in Canada and participated in the "Deaf World Record" for skydiving in Florida in 2005 when he linked with 19 other divers in formation. The Rainbow Boogie will be just another first to add to the list.

  2. i wonder if this is involved with the 1st outgames in montreal this summer?

    http://www.montreal2006.org/home.html

does anybody have any sense of attendance for the outgames in montreal compared to attendance for the gay games in chicago, at (nearly?) the same time?

  3. Of course, my sentiments and loyalty are to the Montreal Outgames and to this event. Trust that we will be there with the only child left in the nest....

  4. Cool - I didn't see this get blogged until now.

OutGames is one of the sponsors (the www.rainbowskydive.com website has the logo), and OutGames has also listed us as a Supporter on their website "The Outgames"->"Supporter of the OutGames"

A few of us decided on the date July 28-31 because of both OutGames and Montreal Pride, so that more people can come to Montreal for the event.

As of this time, we are expecting well over 100 at the event. (To date, 80 have registered so far.)
