road.jpg Danny Miller: Gays are the new Jews. "In 1935, the Nuremberg Laws used pseudoscience to justify discrimination against Jews. Among the many rulings, the Nuremberg Laws made it illegal for Jewish couples to adopt Gentile babies. In 2006, some members of our government are trying to pick up where the Nazis left off. In an interview last week, Debra Maggart stood by her recent statements. 'I don't wish to discriminate against anyone,' she said. 'But homosexuals have issues. That's my opinion.'"

View, where undercovers said they bought cocaine and ecstasy. Splash, where undercovers allegedly bought $2,700 worth of cocaine. Spirit, where cops said they witnessed assaults, including a stabbing; alcohol being served to minors, as well as drug use and sales. Avalon, where cops reported buying ecstasy." Those clubs were shut down while two others were issued restraining orders. Cops also raided a gym: "In Steel Gym, undercovers reported buying the drug crystal meth." Which explains why its members have been working out for days.

  1. I would say Danny Miller's subtitle should be- Persecution of Gays, same old story. "Paragraph 175" producer and director Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman were here in Atlanta this weekend to show their film in conjunction with the Atlanta opening of the "Nazi Persecution of Homosexuals Exhibit 1933-1945." Watching the film we saw noted chilling parallels between then and now. Don't forget that pre-war Berlin had a very progressive attitude toward gay men and lesbians. History does and can repeat itself. Don't forget our history. Speak out.

  3. OMG! Marijuana? The devil's weed?

Surely it is the end of times. Better not let the homos adopt children! They'll breed an army of tolerant anti-Christs! Who they will molest! While on - uh - cocaine! SAVE THE CHILDREN! PROTECT THE FAMILY?

  4. McCain proves it -- there are no "moderate" Republicans. Only Republicans who lick the floor in order to please the radical right faux-Christians.

McCain even admitted he had flashbacks of interrogations in Vietnam when he was being interviewed...not the kind of guy you want with his hand on the button that can kill off the whole world. Not fit to be President...de-nutted by the right, and kinda nutso to begin with.

  6. Gays are the new Jews reminds us that history has a tendency to repeat itself.

The Nuremberg Race Laws of 1935 deprived German Jews of their rights of citizenship, giving them the status of "subjects" in Hitler's Reich. The laws also made it forbidden for Jews to marry or have sexual relations with Aryans or to employ young Aryan women as household help. (An Aryan being a person with blond hair and blue eyes of Germanic heritage.)
The first two laws comprising the Nuremberg Race Laws were: "The Law for the Protection of German Blood and German Honor" (regarding Jewish marriage) and "The Reich Citizenship Law" (designating Jews as subjects).
Those laws were soon followed by "The Law for the Protection of the Genetic Health of the German People," which required all persons wanting to marry to submit to a medical examination, after which a "Certificate of Fitness to Marry" would be issued if they were found to be disease free. The certificate was required in order to get a marriage license.
After the Nuremberg Laws of 1935, a dozen supplemental Nazi decrees were issued that eventually outlawed the Jews completely, depriving them of their rights as human beings.

It doesn’t take much imagination to replace Jew with Homosexual and then you have the views of today’s Republican legislator or “born again” minister.

  9. I've enjoyed the fabulous new art museum in Milwaukee, another Santiago Calatrava project. Very innovative and still very functional. I'll really look forward to seeing Chicago's new tower... if it's anything like Calatrava's other work, then Chicago will have another fabulous addition to their already gorgeous skyline.

  10. I'm in complete agreement with Brian. Calatrava's work has an imagination, bonded by artistic discipline to an elegance, rare in modern archtiecture. His bridges and buildings (which tend to grow out of his sculpture, by the way) are among the finest and most beautiful being built today.

  14. re: Playboy's "gay brand" - sincere good luck to them. I had a fantastic liasion with a Playboy salesguy in DFW a few years back and he couldn't have been more complimentary for the way the Playboy organization treated gay and lesbian rights - both politically and within their organization. sex positivity doesn't automatically have to camped into het/homo/bi --- it's more than enough to support all of us enjoying our god-given sexuality.

What a waste of time. I say we give drug users all the drugs they want for free. Any drug. Free Drugs 24/7, until the idiots get all they want. In no time they'll all be dead, and the drug problem will be over.

  17. Yes, Atlanta and Gaydad, I want to associate myself totally with your remarks about the reality of fascism in the industrialised nations, especially the USA, and the fear of LGBT individuals becoming the "new scapegoat" ( imagine if you belong to both groups)for the second Holocaust.

Paragraph 175 was great. The most important sentence was that it took both East and West Germany nearly a quarter century AFTER the END of WWII to rescind laws against gays.

Our gay ancestors went from Nazi concentration camps to West and East German prisons and were given nothing.
